Kum Apem, one of Asante Kotoko’s supporters groups on WhatsApp have made a donation to Kwame Arhin, a fan of the club who got paralyzed during the team’s encounter against ASEC Mimosas in 1992.

In a clash between the Ghana Premier League giants and the Ivorian side in the CAF Champions League, it is believed that there was a ‘juju’ substance in the goalpost of the away team.

At the packed Baba Yara Sports Stadium, the Kotoko fan boldly went to remove the substance from the team’s goalpost with the Porcupine Warriors eventually winning 3-2 at the end of the day.

A day later, Kwame Arhin became sick and eventually got paralyzed. Though a lot of fans insist he is a hero, he has been left alone for years with no support from the club.

Taking the matter into their own hands, the Kum Apem supporters group on WhatsApp has donated several items plus cash to Kwame Arhin.

Members of the group who led the donation Executives George Forson (President), Agnes Obour (Secretary) Razak Abubakar, Agnes Obour, Dr. Daniel Owusu-Ansah ( Lecturer KNUST), and Enock Owusu.

They donated a cash Amount of GHS2,000, with Foodstuffs Wheelchair, toiletries, sanitizers, gloves, radio, water amongst others.

According to Chairman Solomon Ofosu Ware, they were dazzled when they heard his distasteful situation and hence decided to organize themselves to support him.

“It is absolutely unfortunate incident, and what is more scrupulous is how for so many years he has been neglected.

“We are here to support the club and situations like this one. We will continue to offer our widows mite to provide relief for him”, he said.
