Kumasi Asante Kotoko attacker, Maxwell Baako has started personal training after recovering from a long-term injury that kept him out of the team’s squad that participated in the GFA Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition.

It can be recalled that the skillful player got injured during his side’s CAF Confederations cup match against Nkana FC when they visited them in Zambia.

After several months on the sidelines, Baako has now recovered from the unfortunate injury and has stepped up personal training in a bid to join his teammates for extensive training in the coming days.

This comes as good news for the Porcupine Warriors who are kicking off their campaign in the CAF Champions League this weekend with a trip to Nigeria to face Kano Pillars in the preliminary stage of the inter-club competition.

Though Maxwell Baako cannot play any part in that fixture, it is likely he could be back to full fitness to face the Kano-based club two weeks from today when they host them at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The former Wa All Stars and Karela United player is expected to join his teammates and new coach Kjetil Zachariassen for training next week when they return from Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the challenging counter between Kano Pillars and Kotoko will come off later this afternoon at the Sani Abacha Stadium at 15:00GMT.
