German-born Ghanaian international Kevin-Prince Boateng has gotten a new manager at Fiorentina following the club's decision to appoint Giuseppe Iachini as head coach for the Italian club.

The Serie A club has been struggling since the start of the 2019/2020 season where they have failed to live up to expectations.

Over the last few months, manager Vincenzo Montella had been in charge of the side but injuries and other factors that have hit the club have prevented them from getting the wins that they would have hoped for.

The top hierarchy of the Florence-based club after giving Montella some grace period finally decided to let him go last Saturday following their last game of the first half of the Italian Serie A season.

They have handed the coaching job to 55-year-old Giuseppe Iachini. He will prepare the team through the holidays and get them ready for the start of the second half of the season in January.

He will be expected to improve the team in order to be able to move them from the 15th position to a higher position on the League standings.

After the appointment of the new gaffer, Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso said, "The current ranking has forced us to change coach. We chose Iachini because he is a man of substance, tied to Florence and Fiorentina.

"Now we have to stay united and get back on the right track as soon as possible. he current ranking situation has forced us to change coach”.

Kevin-Prince Boateng who has struggled to find his feet in the ongoing campaign will need to show good form in training under the new boss to ensure he maintains his starting role.
