Chief Executive Officer of AshantiGold Kudjoe Fianoo has stated that his long tenure as the leader of the club comes to an end on February 28, 2018.

Fianoo has been with the Miners for over a decade- played a key role in the team's building and guided them to end their 19-year league title drought in the 2014/15 season.

New investors have taken over AshantiGold and that brings his tenure to an end.

“Tomorrow [February 28th] will be my last day as Ashanti Gold CEO,”Fianoo told Asempa FM.

“I have done what i have to do as CEO of the club and i’m leaving the club on a good note. There is no bad blood between myself and the club.

“Ashanti Gold have done a lot for me, if i’m to enjoy my SNNIT benefit now, it means Ashanti Gold have played a role in it.”

He added, “For the first time my family has backed me 100% with respect to my decision, so i won’t be Ashanti Gold CEO from tomorrow, the club will forever remain in my heart.”

AshantiGold will engage Wa All Stars at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Sunday, March 4, in the first match of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League season.
