Ghanaian striker Kwadwo Obeng Junior has officially announced the expiration of his contract with Hearts of Oak.

The striker, who captured the hearts of fans with his mesmerizing skills and goal-scoring prowess, has brought an end to his successful stint with the prestigious club.

Obeng Junior extended his contract with Hearts of Oak for a further three years in 2020. He scored eleven goals in twenty-five games, ten of which were in the league, to conclude the 2020/21 campaign as the club's leading scorer overall.

Obeng Junior has endured criticism and harsh treatment from some groups of the club's supporters due to a recent scoring drop, despite his past accomplishments and contributions to the team's Premier League and FA Cup victories. In the most recent campaign, he scored three goals.

"Yes, my contract has indeed come to an end, and now I'm considering my next steps. I will be having a discussion with my manager to explore the possibilities for my future, and whatever guidance he provides, I will follow," he told Oyerepa FM.

"I am only working and I don't have any issue with the club so whatever they will say, I dont have a problem. I have had several offers from other clubs but I am looking at Hearts of Oak now and what they will say,"
