Ghanaian international Kwame Kizito is set to miss the rest of the Swedish football season after picking up a career threatening injury at Falkenbergs FF.

The striker joined the club from HB Hacken in 2019 and was set to play his full season with the side for the first time in the recently started campaign.

Just last weekend when the Swedish top-flight started, he was featured and helped the club to earn a point on the back of a goalless draw result.

In training this week as Falkenbergs FF continue preparation for their matchday two encounters in the league this weekend, Kwame Kizito has picked up a nasty injury.

Footballghana.com has picked up information that the former Hearts of Oak forward has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

He has had an MRI scan and will need to go under the needle. According to additional checks, he is set to spend between 8 and 12 months on the sidelines before he can get back onto the pitch.

“He [Kwame Kizito] injured the front cruciate ligament and meniscus on the outside of the knee.

“Now surgery is first awaited and then rehabilitation for eight to twelve months."

"Unfortunately, Kwame Kizito misses the rest of the season. He is sad and does not want to speak in the media”, an official from the club has said.

The striker has been hard hit with the news knowing that his goal of excelling in the Swedish Allsvenskan this season has been shuttered.
