New AFC Wimbledon recruit Kwesi Appiah has been given a short break by coach Neal Ardley after ending his stay in Norway with a goal.

Kwesi marked his final appearance for Viking FK against Haugesund with a lovely headed goal at the weekend and he will join-up with his new team-mates at Wimbledon in around 10 days' time.

Neal Ardley said: "Kwesi has only just finished his season so we will give him a little break to keep him fresh. We have managed to get a really good player and the reason for that is because he's had a horrible time over the last couple of seasons.

"Kwesi has gone away to Norway and had in the region of 12-15 games. He has worked hard, got himself really fit, and he is a different animal than the one we had the time before.

"Kwesi has banged in a few goals in a tough league and he will come back in good spirits. He will come back slightly ahead of the other boys in terms of fitness. When he does come back it will be exciting because we have got some good centre forwards at this club at the moment."
