Kwasi Appiah, a former Ghana head coach has called on Asante Kotoko to maintain the current team for at least three years.

Following the constitution of the new 12 member board of directors, Manhyia has tasked to the board to restore the pride of the club and win trophies.

Nana Yaw Amponsah has been named as the new Chief Executive Officer of the club on a three-year mandate.

In seeking to win trophies domestically and beyond, Appiah believes maintaining the current side will benefit the team.

“Everyone must play his role very well for Kotoko to reclaim its lost glories but the supporters have the greatest of the role to play.

“They put pressure on coaches and management for results,” the former Ghana coach told Kumasi FM.

“We must have patience and find ways of keeping our players for at least two or three years.

Appiah continued, “If all these things are put in place very well and the supporters exercise patience for the team, automatically the target of winning African titles will materialize.

“We cannot just sign players, assemble them and dream of winning trophies because we are Kotoko. It doesn’t work that way.

Asante Kotoko has been chosen by the Ghana Football Association to represent Ghana in the 2020/21 Caf Champions League.

The clubs top heriarchy are yet to make a decision on the FA’s request.
