Coach Kwesi Appiah has left his job at Sudanese side Al-Khartoum  for the Ghana coaching job.

Appiah leaves the Sudanese side after a two-spell at the club, where he is loved and cherished by the fans.

In his first season, he was named coach of the year after guiding Al Khartoum to a second place finish in the Sudanese league.

Appiah has been reappointed as coach of the Black Stars just two years after leaving the job.

He has been handed a two-year contract by the Ghana Football Association with a target of qualifying the team to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon as well as the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The Black Stars job became available after Avram Grant left his role after two years in charge of the team. He led Ghana to the AFCON final in 2015 and a fourth place finish at the 2017 edition of the tournament.
