LaLiga Fantasy MARCA Matchday 20 Best XI

Published on: 23 January 2019

With the 20th round of LaLiga Santander fixtures now all done and dusted, the time has come to take stock and reveal the latest LaLiga Fantasy MARCA Best XI.

Atletico Madrid are far and away the dominant force in this star-studded lineup, with no fewer than four of Los Rojiblancos' aces, including Player of the Matchday Santiago Arias, making the cut. The Colombian stopperchalked up an impressive 20 points on the back of his assured display and sublime volleyed goal in the Madrilenians' 3-0 away triumph over SD Huesca.

On this occasion, Arias's teammate Jan Oblak (10 points) - who also played an instrumental role in Atletico's win, pulling off a trio of fine saves en route to a clean sheet - gets the nod between the Best XI sticks. Slotting in alongside the aforementioned Arias to form a formidable-looking four-man backline are Atleti's Lucas Hernandez (14), who also got his name on the scoresheet at El Alcoraz, and Levante UD duo Coke (16) and Toño (14), after the former weighed in with a goal and the latter provided an assist in Los Granotes' 2-0 home win over R.Valladolid CF.

The remaining Atletico representative, Koke, who was also on the mark, claims his spot in the team's engine room thanks to a stellar 15-point showing. Taking their places alongside him are Getafe CF's Sebastian Cristoforo (15), who earned a penalty in his side's 4-0 rout of D.Alaves, Real Betis midfield maestro Sergio Canales and SD Eibar's Pablo de Blasis (13 points apiece), both of whom were on target in their respective outings.

The side's forward line features Getafe sharpshooters Jorge Molina (15) and Jaime Mata (14), who both bagged braces as Los Azulones brushed Alaves aside at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
