Former Ghana international Laryea Kingston has apologized to the Ghana Football Association president, Kurt Okraku, for causing him and the association embarrassment.

After the 43-year-old resigned as head coach of the team on Saturday after they lost 2-1 to Burkina Faso, the GFA said Laryea was u unreachable and refused to attend post-match meetings with the Black Starlets Management Committee.

The GFA in a statement the following day accused him of using inappropriate language while communicating his resignation.

Laryea has now apologized to the GFA president specifically and the GFA EXCO as a whole.

“To the President and the EXCO, I also want to unreservedly and sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding, inconvenience and embarrassment my decision to announce resignation last Saturday caused,” Laryea said in his statement.

“After careful consideration, I could have handled things better and this will be guiding experience for me going forward.”

Laryea Kingston also added that he is looking forward to winning the bronze with the team in tonight’s final against Nigeria.
