The year has come to an end but 2018 will always be remembered as Ciro Immobile’s as the Lazio striker scored more than anyone else in Serie A over the last 12 months.
Twenty-three goals was his tally for the year, two more than second best Mauro Icardi, with ten of those coming this season.
The Italian has one more than Icardi in 2018/19 and is four behind current capocannoniere Cristiano Ronaldo.
Further digging shows the 2017/18 season in an even more positive light for Immobile, who ended the Serie A campaign with 29 goals, though he ended with 42 goals altogether – including the Europa League, Supercoppa Italiana and Coppa Italia.
The year ended in unusual fashion for the Biancocelesti forward though as he has not found the net in four games so Novara and Napoli – his next opponents – will be keeping a watchful eye on him.
