Lee Grant has been superb for Stoke since his arrival on loan from Derby in August as cover for the injured Jack Butland, particularly excelling at Old Trafford in a 1-1 draw.

His parent club, however, have yet to strike up any further deal with Stoke. The loan deal runs out on January 3, which gives the Rams only a couple of weeks to agree to a new settlement which Grant himself is very keen to arrange.

"My understanding of things is that there has been a fair offer made and it has been turned down by my own club," he toldStoke Sentinelangrily.

"Unfortunately there is not a lot more I can say or do about it, especially when you have important and difficult fixtures ahead to concentrate on.

"Clubs can make it difficult and it seems like that's the case currently."

Grant may be having a whale of a time at the Potters, but he might end up sitting on the bench as soon as England no. 2 Butland returns from an ankle injury sustained on international duty.

"I've made it clear, and Stoke have made their intentions clear, and the hope is that some agreement will be reached before my loan is up. I've had 12 years at the football club and I have loved almost every minute of that," Grant said.

"I've had some interesting times over the last 18 months, but that doesn't take away the fact that I have a strong affinity with the football club.

"I've given good service and you hope that stands you in good stead in these type of situations."
