LEGA SERIE A AND UNAR TAKE THE FIELD TOGETHER WITH THE "KEEP RACISM OUT" CAMPAIGN

Published on: 14 March 2022

Lega Serie A and UNAR (National Anti-Racial Discrimination Office of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers) will once again take the field together with the campaign "Keep Racism OUT" to combat racism and all forms of discrimination.

On the occasion of the 30th Matchday of the Championship, and to coincide with the 18th Week Against Racism, which runs from 15 to 21 March 2022, a series of initiatives will be carried out on all Serie A pitches and on Lega Serie A's social channels to support the campaign, thanks to the contribution and participation of the 20 associated clubs.

On Thursday 17 March, on the social accounts @SerieA, the new commercial "Keep Racism Out" will be previewed: in a video marked by voices and music, all Serie A teams, each with a representative player, will underline their commitment by launching a strong message of inclusion and fight against racism. Rocco Hunt has signed the music track that accompanies the new spot.
The video will be published on the social channels of Lega Serie A and the 20 clubs, and will be broadcast on the big screens of the Serie A stadiums from the 30th day of the Championship until the end of the season.

In each stadium, the ball carrier podium, the alignment arch in front of which all the teams will line up and the substitution boards will be personalised with the initiative's sticker, while the captains will wear the armband symbolising the day and the right sleeve of the players' shirts will be patched to celebrate the day.
At the end of the matches, coaches and players who present themselves at the microphones for interviews will wear the "Keep Racism Out" sticker on their jackets.

Other initiatives include the launch of the official "Keep Racism Out" kit on Friday 18 March in the FIFA Ultimate Team mode of the world's biggest sports video game franchise, EA SPORTS FIFA 22.

"The initiatives planned on all Serie A TIM pitches this weekend are a concrete reflection of the great work that we have been carrying out for more than two years together with UNAR and our clubs - said Luigi De Siervo, CEO of Lega Serie A -. To reaffirm with great determination our strong condemnation of all forms of discrimination and to fight racism in our stadiums is the mission of the Keep Racism Out campaign, a top priority among Lega Serie A's CSR initiatives. There is still a long way to go, but the path is well underway, and thanks to the collaboration of the Serie A teams we are working to raise awareness among fans and score the most important goal together".

"The new edition of the campaign 'Keep Racism Out', in the context of the 18th Week of Action against Racism, reinforces the virtuous path started with the Lega Serie A, a fundamental partner with which UNAR collaborates in the front line against all forms of discrimination - declares the Director of UNAR, Triantafillos Loukarelis - We hope that the awareness-raising activities carried out jointly will continue along the path taken, with the common goal of isolating the violent and condemning episodes that have nothing to do with the values of competition and fan. The Week of Action against Racism, which is celebrated throughout Italy from 15 to 21 March, is an opportunity for all football clubs to continue to play a fundamental role in creating a network against racism and eliminating all forms of discrimination in the sports world. We will all be able to say that we have won when the only chorus we hear in the stadiums is that of inclusion".
