Ghana Premier League side, Legon Cities FC have announced that the club is making efforts to ensure the health issues of goalkeeper William Essu are addressed.

This is contained in a press release issued on Wednesday, September 13, following backlash from the public.

“Our attention has been drawn to pictures of our goalkeeper William Essu circulating on various social media platforms with discussions on traditional media platforms.

“We plead with the media and general public to be circumspect in the reportage of Essu's health as all efforts are being made to address the player's current situation,” a club statement issued by the Communication Division of Legon Cities FC said.

Due to his ill health, goalkeeper William Essu will not be available for selection this weekend when Legon Cities FC take on Karela United in Round 1 of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
