Legon Cities will not be relegated at the end of the season – Maxwell Konadu

Legon Cities coach Maxwell Konadu is confident his outfit will escape the relegation drop at the end of the season.

The Royals held Asante Kotoko to a 1-1 stalemate at the El- Wak Stadium on Thursday in matchday 24 of the Ghana Premier League.

The first half didn’t produce the free flowing football many expected but the Porcupines took the lead on 17 minutes. They were awarded a penalty and up stepped skipper Richard Boadu to send the Cities goalie the wrong way.

After recess, Alex Aso climbed off the bench to restored parity for the Royals with a brilliant finish in the 70th minute which was enough to salvage a point for his side.

Despite being one place up of relegation, the former Asante Kotoko trainer is undoubtedly confident Legon Cities will maintain their status in the league at the end of the season.

“We are not going to relegation. The team will not be relegated at the end of the season; we will climb up the ladder trust me” he said.

Legon Cities are 15th on the league standings with 28 points after 24 matches into the campaign.
