Leicester Boss Claudio Ranieri Ready to Offload Unsettled Duo Despite Key Absences

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri has admitted he will not stand in the way of Jeffery Schlupp and Leonardo Ulloa, if the pair decide theywant to leave The King Power stadium in January.

The duo haven't received contract renewals since Leicester's Premier League triumph last season andhave both struggled to earn much match timethis term.

65-year-old Ranieri, as quoted inThe Mirror, has explained hedoesn't want his players to be 'unhappy' at Leicester City.

"I understand them.Always I say to my players it is important to stay together - If they don't feel good because they want more it is important to speak and look what is the best for the club, the team and themselves." The Foxes manager stated.

The news may come as a bit of a shock to some Leicester fans, as new signing Islam Slimani and star player Riyad Mahrez will almost certainly be absent during January, representing Algeria at the African Cup of Nations.

While Ulloa and Schlupp could act as cover for the period of absence,Ranieri was keen to point out that he didn't think it fair to keep hold of players for just one month.

I understand it is not possible to retain one or two players only because there is the Africa Nations Cup. The former Chelsea boss said.

West Brom have been linked withSchlupp, since their unsuccessfulattempts to land the German-born wingerin the summer, while bothSunderland and Swansea are reportedly keen to take wantaway strikerUlloa off Leicester's books.

Few haveexpected the Foxesto recreate their remarkable league win of last term, but Ranieri will surely be seeking to use the next transfer windowto help add quality to aside that is currently playing below expectations.
