Ghana star Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has revealed that Leicester City fans empower him to do more with their support and keep him going.

The former Steadfast and Dreams FC player said this after it was announced on Tuesday that his loan transfer to Leicester from Sporting has been made permanent on a five-year deal.

During his loan spell last season, Fatawu famously formed a brilliant bond with the club’s fans and was always seen signing while taking selfies with them after victories.

Speaking after the announcement, he said, “With the fans, it feels so good to be with them. They always give more energy and it gives me the motivation to do more.

“They are the best. [The fans singing my name] is special. It’s amazing for me. I always feel good when I hear the fans singing my name. That will keep me going.”

In 43 appearances across various competitions last season, Fatawu demonstrated his skill with seven goals, including a memorable hat-trick in a dominant 5-0 win over Southampton at Filbert Way.

His influential performances in the Championship were instrumental in Leicester City's successful campaign, which culminated in lifting the title and securing promotion to the Premier League.
