Leicester owner buys Belgian club OH Leuven

Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha has purchased Belgian second-flight club Oud-Heverlee Leuven.

Leicester City have enjoyed a lot of success since Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha purchased the club back in 2010 and the head of the King Power company has now extended his football portfolio with the purchase of Belgian second division outfit Oud-Heverlee Leuven.

The takeover of OH Leuven by Vichai is through his company King Power and understood to be separate from his ownership with Leicester City and it is unclear whether the Belgian club will have any relationship with the Foxes.

Confirming the deal, OH Leuven said in a statement: "The takeover will be formally completed after the usual period of due diligence. The King Power group will keep community work a priority, as well as co-operating with the various supporters' groups and will further develop the youth programme, all in line with its major sporting ambition for the first team."
