Leicester City are reportedly lining up a £20m move for Burnley's England international defender Michael Keane in the January transfer window.

According toThe Sun, Leicester are keen to bolster their defensive options having leaked 18 goals in just 11 Premier League games so far this season.

Keane has attracted interest from the likes of Chelsea after an impressive start to the season with the newly promoted Clarets.

But Burnley bossSean Dyche has previously categorically dismissed any chance of a departure, amid rumours of a potential £25m switch to London.

Claudio Ranieri's Foxes may be hoping that the allure of Champions League football is enough to tempt Keane to up sticks, although it's unclear whether a move would appeal to the 23-year-old.

The Sun have reported that Leicester sent scoutEduardo Macia to watch Keane play in his side's late 3-2 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

With it looking ever more likely that Leicester will progress from their group in the Champions League, Ranieri may have to add some competition for Wes Morgan and Robert Huth, both 32.

Keane has stalled on a new contract with the club, which could eventually mean they are forced to sell their star centre back.

The former Stockport man has earned plaudits in a stubborn Burnley back four this season, not least for his performance in Burnley's dogged0-0 draw at Old Trafford.

Burnley are currently two points ahead of the Premier League champions, after a hugely impressive start in their return to the top flight.
