Leonard Owusu seals move to MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps

Footballghana.com can confirm that former Dreams FC captain, Leonard Tawiah has sealed his transfer to Major League Soccer (MLS) side Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

The club announced the capture of the highly-rated midfielder today as he joins them from Israeli Premier League side FC Ashdod.

Tawiah has inked a three-year contract with Vancouver Whitecaps FC but will have an option to extend for another year if he manages to impress throughout that period.

After completing the transfer, sporting director Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Axel Schuster said: “Leonard is focused on improving and moving forward in his career step-by-step”.

He added, ‘”e is from a very good academy in Ghana, performed well playing aboard in Israel, and now is the right time for him to take on a new challenge in Vancouver. His characteristics - strong, powerful, dynamic - fit the profile we look for in his position. We are looking forward to having Leonard join our group.''

Meanwhile, Leonard Tawiah is awaiting the receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC), medical, work permit, and visa to start pre-season with his new club.
