Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew has urged Ghanaians to support the young players in the national team.

According to him, this is what will help them to appreciate what it means to represent and play for Ghana.

"We have a young squad who are now understanding what it means to play for the team. They started playing abroad at a young age, unlike the old generation who came through the local league.

"They tend to cope more with what they're experiencing abroad. So coming back to Ghana to readapt to our culture and values is not easy,” Andre Ayew said.

The Black Stars captain continued, "Psychologically, everybody needs to understand what Ghana means, what Ghana football means to the people. The young ones would need more support to be able to focus on what playing for the country means."

Andre Ayew was delivering a lecture on sports psychology at the University of Ghana.

The Black Stars captain is optimistic the perceived lack of passion in Black Stars will be addressed with top player performances.
