After their Ligue 1 match against Marseille was called off over the weekend after Dimitri Payet was hit in the head by a bottle, Lyon was ordered to play home games behind closed doors until at least December 8.

In the fifth minute of Sunday's play at Lyon's Parc OL stadium, the Marseille captain was smacked on the side of the head as he prepared to take a corner for the visitors, leading both sides to retreat to their changing rooms.

A Marseille club official told AFP that Payet, who did not train on Monday, has filed a complaint with the Lyon public prosecutor, who is investigating the incident.

The French professional football league (LFP) announced that "in light of the serious incident that occurred during the match," its disciplinary committee had opened an investigation and, as a precaution, had ordered that all games at the Parc OL stadium be played behind closed doors until a decision was made, which is expected before December 8.
