A water bottle thrown from the crowd hit Dimitri Payet as he prepared to take a corner in Sunday's Ligue 1 encounter between Lyon and Marseille only minutes after kick-off.
Players from both sides returned to the locker rooms after Payet was hit on the side of the head and needed treatment. During a game in Nice in August, the France international was also struck by a bottle.
The game has been suspended and is yet t restart.
This season's French football has been marred by crowd issues.
