Marseille midfielder Pape Gueye has chosen to represent Senegal at the international level, according to L'Équipe, and might be included in the squad for the African Cup of Nations in January.
The 22-year-old, who joined OM last year, had previously represented France at the U18 and U19 levels, but has now decided to represent his parents' homeland after being persuaded by Senegal boss Aliou Cissé.
Last season, the former Le Havre player, who briefly joined Watford in 2020, made 32 Ligue 1 appearances and scored two goals. So far this season, he's made 14 appearances in all competitions.
