Lionel Messi Lookalike Set to Take the Internet by Storm After Creating Twitter Account

Published on: 01 November 2016

It seems to have become a craze in recent months to impersonate high-profile footballers. Doppelgangers of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Jamie Vardy have all surfaced in the last 12 months in an attempt to gain attention from the public and on social media.

But the most recent of these has topped the lot. An unnamed Brazilian man has created a Twitter account to showcase the uncanny resemblance between himself and five time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi.

The account @sosiamessi currently has 3,835 followers, and has only been on Twitter for less than a month.

His popularity has skyrocketed after the Twittersphere caught wind of his likeness to

Barcelona star Messi, which is shown by a number of images he hasposted.

And his exposure is only set to increase as Messi's doppelganger makes his way around the world wide web.

His Twitter bio reads: "I'm lookalike messi! I made this profile to show the similarity! before I found very weird nowto worshiping fame!"

He will have to get used to the attention though, as it is unlikely to stop with more and more people taking a shine to this Messi lookalike.
