LIVE UPDATES: Asante Kotoko v FC Nouadhibou - CAF Champions League

Published on: 06 December 2020

Good afternoon and welcome to the live text coverage of the CAF Champions League tie between Asante Kotoko and FC Nouadhibou at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Ghana Premier League record holders are locking horns with the Mauritania champions today for the second of the two-legged tie at the preliminary stage of the CAF elite inter-club competition.

Initially, the clash was billed to be played on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

As a result of some Coronavirus concerns with the visiting team, the game was called off with CAF rescheduling it to today.

Following a 1-1 draw result from the first leg, both teams will have it all to play for this afternoon with Asante Kotoko holding a slight advantage as a result of the away goal rule.

Ahead of kick-off, head coach for the Porcupine Warriors, Maxwell Konadu has named a strong starting eleven to battle against FC Nouadhibou.

All set for crunch meeting as the Asante Kotoko team arrives at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Looks like we are in for another delay here at the Accra Sports Stadium just as was witnessed yesterday.

Latest update: Not until the outcome of the Covid-19 tests of the Mauritanians are in and they are clear about the status of the players said to be positive, they’re not coming out to warm-up.

Kotoko has presented clearance of players for today's encounter and are waiting to play the match.

Referees are meanwhile done with their warm-up.
