LIVE UPDATES: Ghana coach Otto Addo names final squad for World Cup 2022

Good morning and welcome to the live text coverage of the Black Stars' final squad announcement for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana head coach Otto Addo will at 11 am officially unveil his 26-man squad for the upcoming tournament at a press conference.

Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be one of five African countries representing the continent.

The Black Stars will compete in Group H of the group stages of the tournament. In that group, Ghana will battle it out with two-time champions Uruguay, as well as European giants Portugal.

The other group opponent is South Korea from Asia.

While the 2022 FIFA World Cup will commence on Sunday, November 20, Ghana’s Black Stars will play their first match on November 24.

Subsequently, Ghana will take on South Korea on November 28 before finishing the group stages campaign with a rematch against Uruguay.

Ghana coach Otto Addo will in the next 30 minutes announce his final squad that will be in Qatar to do battle for the country.

Ahead of the squad unveiling, Ghana coach Otto Addo has been sweating with injury concerns. Goalkeepers Richard Ofori and Joseph Wollacott are reported to have picked injuries over the weekend and are expected to miss the world cup.

Meanwhile, midfielder Baba Iddrisu has been ruled out of the tournament with a knee injury.

Coach Otto Addo has been called up to make his announcement.
