Liverpool Battle it Out With Real Madrid for Valencia Youngster Fran Navarro

Liverpool are set to go head-to-head with La Liga giants Real Madrid, over the signing of Valencia youngster Fran Navarro.


Navarro, 18, has developedthrough the Valencia academy and has impressed with his performances for the club in their youth sides.


His form has alerted many of Europe's top clubs andaccording toSuper DeporteLiverpool are interested in the young Spaniard, having been impressed by his performances in a recent UEFA tournament.

The youth product has also represented Valencia in the UEFA Youth League this season and has also played regularly for the club's B team in the lower leagues of Spanish football.


However, Jurgen Klopp's side aren't the only team keeping an eye on Navarro's development.Real Madrid are said to have been receiving regular information regarding the player's development in Valencia's academy. The Bernabeu club are set to battle Liverpool for Navarro, whose current contract with Valencia runs until 2019.

Liverpool signed Pedro Chirivella from Valencia back in 2013, and the 19-year-old made a Premier League appearance last season, when Reds boss Klopp shuffled his squad due to Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup commitments.


Klopp has not been afraid to play youngsters during his time at Liverpool, with Brad Smith, Jerome Sinclair and Jordan Ibe all featuring frequently last season, though all three have moved away from Anfield recently.


Ben Woodburn, 17, featured in Liverpool's EFL Cup win over Leeds United on Tuesday, becoming the club's youngest ever goalscorer in the process.
