Liverpool boss Klopp furious with match officials over Chelsea equaliser

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was frustrated with Chelsea's equaliser for today's 1-1 draw at Anfield.

Mohamed Salah's sensational season continued when he opened the scoring with his 15th Liverpool goal of the campaign in the second half at Anfield.

However, the Reds were undone when Willian's attempted cross sailed over Simon Mignolet to level the score for the champions .

Klopp had been trying to give Adam Lallana his first appearance of the season but was unable to make the substitution before Willian netted.

"I was angry because we wanted to change the system and we couldn't because of the referee," he said.

"The referee didn't give us this opportunity.

"We wanted to change to five at the back and I think that could have helped a lot.

"That's where Willian popped up with the goal."

Despite seeing his side concede, Klopp was still pleased by what he saw from his charges against Antonio Conte's Premier League champions.

He added: "I watched two really good sides with a fantastic attitude.

"Chelsea's lineup made it difficult and made it a nice, counter-attacking game.

"I've seen a lot of Salah and I speak a lot about him after games. He can play in this type of game [as a no.9]. I thought it was a really good team performance tonight."
