Liverpool Could Scupper Everton's Move for £13m-Rated Attacker by Launching Bid of Their Own

Liverpool have reportedly identified Ajax attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech as a potential signing this summer.

According to soccernews.nl, Ziyech could bethe subject of an official bid fromthe Reds after starring for his new club in the Dutch Eredivisie this season.

The 23-year-old has been making waves for the Enschede-based club since his move from FC Twente last summer, and his performances could now prompt Liverpool into action once the next transfer window opens.


That will make for annoying news on the part ofthe Reds' bitter rivals Everton, who have also been keeping tabs on Ziyech and will reportedlybid to sign him this summer, after almost doing so before the start of the current season.

The 23-year-old is understood to be worth around £13m andhas previously caught the attention of Premier League clubs such asCrystal Palace, Sunderland, Swansea and Southampton,

according to the Daily Star.

Ziyech, a Dutch-born Moroccan international,has shone in the Dutch Eredivisie this season, hitting eight goals in 22 appearances and has gained plaudits on numerous occasions for his technical ability.

Ronald Koeman is expected to raid the club where he spent three years as a player in the 1980s and as a manager between 2001-05, but it remains to be seen if he'll beable to stave off competition fromhis cross-city rivals Liverpool.
