Liverpool Eye Up Ajax's 15-Year-Old Goalkeeper as Klopp Continues to Bolster Academy

Liverpool are reportedly eyeing up young Dutch goalkeeping sensation Jord Ruijgrok as the clubcontinue to plan for their future, withtheir already impressive academy system.


The Reds are currently leading the way in the Premier League for the emergence of young talent breaking into the first team, such as young Ben Woodburn breaking Michael Owen's record of youngest goalscorer by 98 days in their 2-0 EFL Cup victory over Leeds United, and coach Jurgen Klopp looks to be having his eye on one more talented teenager.

According toGoal.com,Jord Ruijgrok, 15-year-old goalkeeper for Dutch side Ajax, is on Klopp's wish list ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, with the youngster needing one more year before he is allowed to sign a professional contract at Anfield.


However, Ajax are reportedly keen to keep hold of the player so that he can continue his development in Holland, a club renowned for their academy players, and are aware that Liverpool, as well as several other Premier League sides, are interested in acquiring the shot-stopper.

Ruijgrok is one of several youngsters under consideration by Klopp with the club, who is determined to develop the side'sacademy into one of the best in the world as he prepares to continue his revolution in Merseyside for the foreseeable future.


Woodburn is just another example of Klopp's willingness to give youth a chance, with the 17-year-old making his league debut against Sunderland the week before, and looks to have impressed the German coach on his first few outings.
