Liverpool Eyeing £10m Move for Hull City Defender as Jurgen Klopp Looks to Strengthen in January

Liverpool are reportedly ready to bid £10m for Hull City full-back Andrew Robertson in the January transfer window as boss Jurgen Klopp prepares to bolster his defence in the new year.

Despite having the best attacking record in the Premier League with 41 goals, the Reds alsohave one of the worst defensive records in the top four sides in the top flight, conceding 20 goals in 20 fixtures, which has been the source of lost points for Klopp's team.

And according to theDaily Star, Klopp will be looking to fix this in the winter window with the signing of Robertson from Hull City.

The Scottish international would reportedly cost the Merseyside club £10m, and would be a welcome sight for the Anfield faithful, who have seen their relatively strong side weakened by a missing figure at left-back at the beginning of the season.

Previous starter Alberto Moreno was dropped from the starting XI since their 4-3 win over Arsenal in the opening game, and has been outcasted ever since, leaving makeshift defender James Milner to fill in - however Klopp will be eager to add a specialist left-back to his squad in a few weeks time.

The 22-year-old has been a main-stay figure of coach Mike Phelan's struggling Tigers, who are currently bottom of the division with just 12 points from 17 games, making 13 appearances.

However, it appears Hull City will not part with the player easily, having offered to exercise an extension to the player's contract to keep him there until 2018, but no progress has been made as of yet with this suggested proposal.
