Liverpool Join Host of Clubs Strongly Interested in Celtic's Moussa Dembele

Liverpool have joined the race to sign Celtic striker Moussa Dembele this summer. The 20-year-old is having a tremendous season at Parkhead and has scored an impressive 32 goals in 45 matches this season. Chelsea are thought to be favourites to sign the Frenchman, having been rumoured to have already attempted to bring him to Stamford Bridge on deadline day, in what would have been a massive £40m deal.

However, according to theDaily Mail, Chelsea's interest has helped firm up Liverpool's move for the Celtic hitman as Jurgen Klopp seeks to revamp his front line, partly due to the decline of Daniel Sturridge.

Liverpool will have plenty of competition if they are to tempt the striker to Anfield though -Chelsea will surely go back in for Dembele, especially if Costa were to move to China, but the report also claims that PSG, Arsenal and Manchester City have all sent scouts to watch the prolific forward in recent weeks.

Dembele has also been scouted by Didier Deschamps in recent weeks, with the report claiming he is line for a first France call up in the upcoming internationals. Should the Frenchman continue his meteoric rise on his debut on the international stage, the interest in him- along with his asking price - will likely soar.

It is understood that Celtic are willing to allow Dembele to move on in the summer should a bid of £40m be received, which would be an enormous profit on the £500,000 it cost for the Hoops to sign him from Fulham last summer.
