Liverpool Lining Up Whopping £20m January Move for In-Form Celtic Sensation

Liverpool are looking to secure a deal for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele in the January transfer window, according to reports fromGlasgow Live.

The Reds are looking to bolster their attacking options ahead of the second half of the campaign and a Premier League title push in 2017, and have identified the young Frenchman as the right man to come into their squad.

The report claims they could offer a £10m up front fee for the former Fulham star, with any deal potentially rising to £20m.

Add-ons would be paid dependent on the successes that Dembele enjoys at Anfield, with additional money being paid up at certain appearance milestones.

Liverpool boss JurgenKlopp has sent scouts to watch Dembele on five occasions this season, and the scouts have been impressed with the player's exploits. The 20-year-old has already hit an excellent 17-goal return for his new club in this campaign.

Dembele could even be handed a £60k-a-week pay-packet in order to convince him to join the title challengers, but he has turned down moves to Arsenal and Spurs before for fear of not being given regular first team football. Dembele currently rakes in around £45k-a-week in Glasgow.

Klopp however sees Dembele as an automatic pick, according to the report at least, and he could provide an alternative to Roberto Firmino in the centre forward position. What the interest means for the future of out-of-favour Daniel Sturridge on Merseyside remains to be seen.

It's expected that a host of clubs across Europe will be looking to sign the player at the end of the season, though Liverpool are hoping to do business before then in order to make sure they don't lose out.
