Liverpool are being linked with a surprise move to keep Joe Hart in the Premier League once his current loan with Torino in Italy has finished, with the England goalkeeper all but certain to be made available by parent club Manchester City.
According to a report by the Daily Mirror, Liverpool are keeping an eye on Hart's situation as they continue to struggle to get the best out of Loris Karius, while Simon Mignolet's days as Anfield number one appear to be long since over.
It is thought that Torino are keen to keep Hart on a permanent basis, while he has is the subject of interest from other as yet un-named Serie A clubs after his performances in Italy.
However, Liverpool could look to tempt him to stay in England when he returns to City to formally leave the club resolve his future. As such, Hart could be faced with a major decision.
The Reds were speculatively linked with a move during the summer, but it was Sunderland, who later gave a platform to home-grown Jordan Pickford, and Everton that were more obviously looking atthe former Shrewsbury Town teenager at the time.
Hart remains contracted to City until 2019 but it will be buying clubs that have the upper hand in any negotiations as it is clear that he has no place at the Etihad Stadium under the existing leadership of Pep Guardiola.
Guardiola very quickly deemed Hart surplus to requirement and promoted Willy Caballero to first choice goalkeeper until the club was able to conclude the £17m signing of Claudio Bravo.
