Liverpool playmaker Coutinho could face England

Philippe Coutinho could be fit to suit up for Brazil in their upcoming friendly against England.

The Liverpool midfielder has not featured for the club since their 4-1 defeat to Tottenham last month after hurting his abductor muscle.

Brazil's team doctor has confirmed that Coutinho will most likely not face against Japan on Friday, but he has offered hope that Coutinho could face the Three Lions.

"Coutinho has an adductor muscle injury in his left thigh," doctor Rodrigo Lasmar was quoted as saying by Globo Esportes.

"The chances that he will play against Japan are tiny. He could be on the bench and play a few minutes. But we are working to make him available against England."
