Liverpool Scouting Sunderland Star as They Look to Solve Goalkeeping Issue

Liverpool have been regularly scouting Sunderlandgoalkeeper Jordan Pickford, according tothe Telegraph.The 22-year-old has starred for the strugglingBlack Cats in the Premier Leaguethis season.


Pickford has risen up through the ranks at the Stadium of Light, and after a host of impressive loan spells, most recently with Preston North End, where he made 27 first team appearances, he has become Sunderland's number one under David Moyes.

Pickford has so far made 21 first team appearances for Sunderland, as well as being capped nine times by England Under-21's


Jurgen Klopp is looking to strengthen his options in goal, after both Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius have been inconsistent this season.The Liverpool boss signed Karius from former club Mainz in the summer.

Liverpool may wait until making a concrete bid for the Sunderland stopper, as the Reds remain interested in out of favour Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart, who is currently on loan at Italian side Torino. The City and England keeper looks set to leave the Etihad at the end of the season, which has alerted a number of Europe's top clubs.
