Liverpool Set to Tie Down Key Midfielder to Long-Term Deal With Gargantuan £150k-a-Week Wage

Liverpool look set to tie down one of their key assets on a new long-term deal as they look to become perennial title-challengers, with Adam Lallana ready to put pen to paper on a new four year deal which will keep him at the club until 2021.

TheTelegraphreport that the England winger and his representatives are in 'advanced talks' with the Reds, which will see the 28-year-old earning a massive £150,000-a-week after becoming one of Jurgen Klopp's most trusted stars.

The former Southampton man struggled to justify his £25m price tag in the season after his 2014 move from the south coast, starting just 23 Premier League games in each of his first two campaigns on Merseyside, but looks set to smash that mark in the coming weeks after establishing himself as one of Klopp's key creators.

Lallana admitted to theLiverpool Echothis week that the current Reds squad may need to be more circumspect in its approach if they're to finally bring the Premier League title to Anfield, saying that Chelsea have shown again this season that:"You don't have to always win by scoring five or six."

That's two players (Milner & Lallana) who'll be on £150k per week into their 30s, who aren't even worth £100k per week. Star player wages.

We're willing to give 28 year old Adam Lallana 150k a week but weren't for Draxler? Most backwards club I've ever know

He continued:Maybe that's an area we need to improve on. We maybe need to realise how good we are at times.Milly (James Milner) is probably the only one in our group who has that type of experience because it only comes from winning silverware like he did at Manchester City.

Myself and the other players haven't won titles or loads of cups so we need to learn from him and listen to him because that type of experience is vital. We need to learn and get back to winning ways in the league as soon as possible.
