Liverpool star Salah on course to beat Suarez\'s goal record

Published on: 16 November 2017

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is currently on course to beat the 31 goal record that Luis Suarez managed at the Merseyside club during his final season at the club before moving to Barcelona.

After arriving at Liverpool for a club record £34 million during the summer, Salah has so far been one of the Reds best players and has so far scored 12 goals from his first 17 appearances for the club in all competitions.

The Egyptian is currently on course to break the record that is held by Suarez.

The closest that any player has been to breaking the record is Philippe Coutinho, who managed 14 goals last season.

Many Liverpool fans would have been skeptical of the clubs decision to buy Salah during the summer considering that he was unsuccessful during his previous spell in England with Chelsea, and also had a reputation of being wasteful in front of goal. He has so far defied his critics.
