The reported Barcelona target has been in scintillating form for the Reds this season, though the club have struggled for the same potency in attack since Coutinho's injury. Roberto Firmino has shifted from the central striker's position and has been less effective, while the Reds have generally found it more difficult to score goals.

Klopp has however delivered his own update on the attacking midfielder's condition, saying that while he is pleased with the progress Coutinho is making, he will not rush him back by any means.

Hesaid on Fridayabout the player's return for the City clash:It would be cool. I won't stop him. In this moment he is improving a lot.He is off his crutches since the West Ham game “ when we left the stadium he was walking in front without them.

We will have to see. I have no idea at the moment. I never rush a player back. I'm the most patient person in Liverpool. I always wait for someone. I can't rush it.

Liverpool next face a trip across town for a huge encounter with Everton; a game which they must win in order to keep pace with league leaders Chelsea.
