Liverpool's Impressive Improvement This Season Shown in One Statistic

Liverpool have taken nine more points from their Premier League games this year than they did last season in the same fixtures.

Saturday's draw with Southampton was an improvement on their result at St. Mary's last season, where they lost 3-2, and takes them onto a score of +9.

They are not the most improved side however, as Watford have upped their tally from last season by a massive 10 points.

Chelsea are also unsurprisingly high up the list, having made a much better start to the league this year in comparison to last time out, where Jose Mourinho was sacked after an embarrassing run of results.

Antonio Conte's sideare third, followed by Manchester City in fourth and Arsenal in fifth. Stuck at the bottom of the table with -17are Swansea, who managed to beat Everton last season, but could only grab a draw at the weekend in the same fixture, with West Ham (-13) not too far ahead of the Swans andleague champions Leicester (-10) also being unable to record the same amount of success this season.

Teams who have earned similar returns include Tottenham Hotspur, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace, whileManchester United have recorded the exact same amount of points, perhaps proving their is not too much difference between the styles of former manager Louis van Gaal are current boss Jose Mourinho.
