Losing to Asante Kotoko very painful – Accra Lions coach Ibrahim Tanko

The head coach of Accra Lions, Ibrahim Tanko was a disappointed man on Monday evening after his side lost to Asante Kotoko.

The capital-based club today hosted the Porcupine Warriors at the Accra Sports Stadium.

In what was a round 4 encounter of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, Asante Kotoko scored in added time of the second half to secure a narrow 1-0 win at full-time.

Speaking in a post-match interview, Coach Ibrahim Tanko described the result as a painful one.

According to him, a draw would have been a fair result for how well the two teams played.

“It’s a very painful defeat. I mean lack of concentration. I think a draw could have been a better or a fair result based on how the two teams played but this is football, one lack of concentration cause you three points. It’s painful,” Coach Ibrahim Tanko said.

Up next for Accra Lions in the Ghana Premier League, the team will face off with Great Olympic in Round 5.
