Luis Suarez Hails 'Playstation Player' Messi After Incredible Skill Against Espanyol

Published on: 18 December 2016

Luis Suarez has hailed Lionel Messi's incredible dribble against Espanyol on Sunday night as 'like something from the Playstation', after the Argentine beat almost half of the opposition team with phenomenal close control.

The shot at the end of the run was scuffed at Espanyol keeper Roberto, who spilled the ball into the path of Suarez to finish with aplomb - although the Uruguayan admitted after the match that he wished Messi could have rounded off the move by scoring himself.

Speaking to Movistar Plus (via theMail), he said: "The derby games are always beautiful. We won and we played well and we recovered a good feeling.I would have preferred that, rather than scoring the second goal myself, Messi could have finished it after his great piece of play. It's like something from the Playstation. He's a unique player."

Andres Iniesta - who played his own, underrated part in the goal with some strong work before the ball came to Messi - added: "In a collective where everyone is doing well, it's important that the individual talents - like those of Messi, who is a sensational player - come out and flourish.

"It was an intense derby, that's for sure. We played a good game and we're happy to have won the last league game of the year."

Barcelona head into the Primera Liga's winter break just three points behind leaders Real Madrid, although the Club World Cup winners have a game in hand after missing the weekend's round of fixtures to go to face off against the world's best inJapan.
