Lukaku urged to move on

Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez believes it is important that striker Romelu Lukaku moves on from Manchester United this summer.

The 26-year-old frontman has spent the last two seasons at Old Trafford, scoring 42 goals in 96 appearances in all competitions.

It is clear that he has to leave Manchester United.

However, he started only 22 of United's 38 Premier League games last season and was never certain of a start following the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as head coach.

That situation leads Martinez to believe that a parting of the ways would be the best option for both the player and the club, with Lukaku attracting interest from a number of clubs across the continent.

Martinez told Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws: "It is clear that he has to leave Manchester United.

"It would be a good thing for both parties and it is now important that Romelu finds the right club."

Lukaku moved to England in the summer of 2011, but found first-team opportunities limited at Chelsea and was loaned out to West Bromwich Albion and Everton, before joining the Toffees on a permanent basis in July 2014.

On the international stage Lukaku has netted 48 times in 81 outings for the Belgium national team and is by far and away the leading all-time scorer for the Red Devils.

Belgium are currently 7/1 to win Euro 2020, with World Cup winners France 7/2 and the Netherlands 9/1.
