The 28-year-old has scored three goals in his last five games for AFC Wimbledon since return from injury including the winner in last weekend’s FA Cup third round victory over Fleetwood Town to set up a fourth-round clash with Premier League side West Ham.

His impressive displays has attracted lots of interest from several clubs in the Championship and League One who are all looking to strengthen their attacking options during the January transfer window.

He is likely to earn a recall to the Ghana squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in March.

However, AFC Wimbledon would be reluctant to lose former Crystal Palace forward during this month’s transfer window, but it is believed the striker has a £100,000 buy-out in his contract at the League One club.

Reports of Appiah’s buy-out clause is sure to make him an attractive proposition to his suitors knowing they could land the in-form striker for a cut-price fee this month.

Luton are looking to bring in a new striker in January to strengthen their bid for promotion from League One and they have been keeping tabs on Appiah's situation.
