Cercle Brugge's Technical Director, Rembert Vromant, has lauded Ghanaian midfielder Abu Francis as a leader both on and off the pitch following the player's contract extension with the club.

The new deal will keep Francis at Cercle Brugge for another year, with an option for an additional season.

Vromant expressed his admiration for Francis' resilience, particularly in his recovery from injury, a quality that he believes embodies the spirit of Cercle Brugge. "Abu is a leader on and off the field. The resilience he has shown in returning from injury is something that we appreciate at Cercle and we want to reward him for that," Vromant said.

Francis, who joined the Green and Black in the summer of 2022 from Danish club FC Nordsjaelland, has been a key figure in the team. The 23-year-old midfielder, a product of Ghana's renowned Right to Dream Academy, has made 15 appearances in the Belgian Pro League this season.

Vromant reaffirmed the club's commitment to Francis, expressing confidence in the Ghanaian international's continued success with Cercle Brugge. "We are fully committed to Abu for the coming seasons and are convinced that his will continue to be a success story," he concluded.
