Olympique Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas admits they considered moving for Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho over the summer.

Mourinho is being linked with PSG this week - and Aulas revealed OL also discussed moving for the United manager as they considered the future of Bruno Genesio.

Asked if there's been contact with former Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti, Aulas stated: "If Ancelotti offers his services? Today is not the idea.

"It's better to rely on someone raised with the OL school. Rémi Garde had the profile to become this English manager (long-term).

"But I do not close the door to big foreign names. I had inquired about certain profiles (Leonardo). My partner Jérôme Seydoux was dreaming of a technician who is raging in Manchester United today..."
