Ghanaian striker Abdul Majeed Waris netted his eighth goal of the season for Lorient as they thrashed Lyon 4-1 in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday evening.

Waris started the game for Lorient and scored the first goal for his side in the 42nd minute when he tapped home.
Lyon's Corentin Tolisso scored the opening goal of the match in the 28th minute but Waris effort levelled matters.
Lorient then went on a three-goal scoring blitz in the second half.

Sylvain Marveaux made it 1-2 before Cameroon international Benjamin Moukandjo added a brace later to end the contest.
His compatriot Alhassan Wakaso, started the game on the bench but made a cameo in the final 20 minutes.
