Mali, Senegal, South Africa and Nigeria to know FIFA U-20 groups on Sunday

African Countries will know their groups opponent in the 22nd edition of the FIFA U-20 World Cup to held in Poland on Sunday.

The final draw will be held on 24th of February 2019 at the Gdynia Sports Arena in Gdynia.

The 24 teams will be drawn into six groups of four teams, with the hosts Poland automatically seeded to Pot 1 and placed into the first position of Group A.

Bielsko-Biała, Bydgoszcz, Gdynia, Łódź, Lublin and Tychy are the six cities to host the competition.

Africa will be represented by four nations Mali, Nigeria, Senegal and South Africa after sealing their qualification in the just ended Africa U-20 Cup of National held in Niger.

African Champions Mali and 7 times appearance in the tournament and Nigeria also 12 times appearance are in pot 2.

Runners up Senegal and South Africa are also in pot 3 and 4 respectively per the rules of the draw.

The top two teams of each group and the four best third-placed teams advance to the round of 16. The draw will start with the host nation Poland to A1, the teams from Pot 1 will be drawn first, the teams from Pots 2, 3 and 4 need to skip groups to avoid geographical clash and there will be no 2 teams to play from the same confederation, then the draw will conclude with teams from Pot 4.

The top two teams of each group and the four best third-placed teams advance to the round of 16.

The official tournament will kick off 23 May- 15 June,2019.
